Sabr Lock — Effective April 7, 2026

What is Sabr Lock

Sabr Lock is a faith-focused app for Muslims who want to build a consistent practice of remembrance (dhikr) and supplication (dua). It helps you track your sessions, build a streak, and use your phone more intentionally.

The app does not require an account. There is no login and no server that stores your personal data.

Data stored on your device

Everything you enter into the app is stored locally on your iPhone only. This includes:

None of this information is uploaded to any server we operate. It exists only on your device and is deleted if you uninstall the app.

App blocking (Screen Time / FamilyControls)

Sabr Lock includes an optional feature that lets you block distracting apps until you complete a dhikr or dua. This feature uses Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls APIs, which require your explicit authorization.

When you choose apps to block, your selections are represented by Apple-issued opaque tokens — we cannot see or identify which specific apps you selected. The app stores these tokens locally on your device (in a shared App Group) so that app shields can be restored if the app restarts.

Your blocked-app selections are never transmitted to any server.

Analytics

We use PostHog, a product analytics tool, to understand how people use the app and improve it over time. Analytics help us see which features are used, where people drop off during onboarding, and whether the app is performing correctly.

What we collect:

What we do not collect via analytics:

PostHog data is processed in accordance with PostHog's privacy policy. We do not use analytics data for advertising.

Purchases and subscriptions

Sabr Lock offers an optional premium subscription and a one-time streak rescue purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store and, where applicable, managed by RevenueCat.

We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple handles all billing. RevenueCat manages subscription state verification on our behalf.

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. You can also manage your subscription within the app under Settings → Manage Subscription.

Restoring a previous purchase can be done via Settings → Restore Purchases.

Notifications

If you grant permission, the app may send you local notifications to remind you to do your daily dhikr, alert you when your streak is at risk, or encourage you to return after a missed day.

All notifications are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent from a remote server, and no notification data is transmitted off your device.

You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

We use the following third-party services:

Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy and processes only the data needed to perform its function. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

Children's privacy

Sabr Lock is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to this app, please contact us so we can address it.

Data retention and deletion

All app data is stored locally on your device and remains under your control. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data permanently.

Anonymous analytics events sent to PostHog may be retained per PostHog's data retention policy. Subscription and purchase records are maintained by Apple and RevenueCat in accordance with their own policies.

There is no account to delete because the app has no account system. If you want to clear all local data, uninstall the app.
